Dollar James !

As you may have noticed, the frequency of my postings is become really awful as i really do not have much time for my blogs recently. Nevertheless, i have yet again received a small 64€ adsense cheque in April after a €70 one received in March! If you look at some of my blogs i have not been posting since february :)! So basically i am earning (little i must admit) but doing nothing! Here is a nice picture of the google adsense cheque i received!

It has often been said the key elements to making money online with a blog is to have regular quality content on it and an attractive design. This is surely true for the top range blogs such as Problogger.net, JohnChow.com, but i can prove you that a small free blogger blog can make you money!

The blog i am talking about is The Color Contacts blog i own. As you may see it is hosted on blogger.com the design is a free awfull template, and content on it is rather basic. This blog can earn me up to $77 dollars a month depending on how many posts i do per month (max 3 or 4). You may ask me how did i manage to make this money with a such a dumb blog? Well i will answer it may not be so dumb than you may think it is.

First of all, i used various softwares available online in order to compare keywords and try and find a niche market (where searches are high and results are low) where adsense click rate is ok (above 0.2$ average per click). Once this was done i created a free blog and chose a free template which had colored circles, a bit like color contacts actually!

The second part of my job was to optimize it for adsense. For that i simply used the blogger plateform, gave my Google adsense account and placed my ads where i wanted. The most important part was chosing the right place for my ads. First of all i placed a skyscraper ad in my left menu and used colors so that it would look as if it was part of my blog. I guess people think it is a menu and click on my ads ! Secondly i placed ads after my posts so that once people have read my article well they read my adsense ads and often click on it!

The third part was writing the content. Well that was quite easy, just go on google, surf around found interesting articles about color contacts, and then just write about what you remember! This was very easy to do! The content of my blog is surely not of a great quality but it is basic and sufficient in order to be read!

Last of all, was how to get traffic…. Well first of all, you need to be patient, and posting regularly as it will take you time before earning money! You need to have been posting for several months before starting to earn! I also used this blog in order to promote my Color Contacts blog. I also pinged directories using pingomatic.com!

All in all this simply shows you that even a dumb old blog can make money! So if you are not making money with your blog, then you should think again about it and try and optimize it and i am sure you will be able to get profit out of it!

As you may have seen my DollarJames blog was offline for quite a time as i unforunately did not have time to work on it. My adsense blogs were also put aside, and this caused my revenues to decrease drastically. Since christmas i have restarted posting a coupe of times in my blogger adsense blogs which have allowed revenues to come back in January and hopefully more in February.

As usual it is The Color Contacts blog which is my most successful blog, and the other unfortunately do not seem to be working very well. My total adsense earnings for January is $33.5 which lets me hope that i will be able to reach the $60 easily in February! The Color Contacts blog has earned me $31.45 in January and My Color Contacts only $1.88 ! My other blogs have earned me the few cents left! For February i am already at $13.03 which is a good start! I will continue posting regularly during the month to see what will happen!

Also i have inserted Google Analytics in order to be able to do some keyword optimization. For example it will allow me to know which keywords visitors have typed in Google to come to my blogs, and all sorts of other information such as where visitors come from. With this i hope to be able to optimize my blogs in order to increase website traffic.

I have also launched a new blog on Eye Laser Surgery, so i hope that in a couple fo months this one will be working and that i will increase web site traffic, but i need to pst regularly which i seem to have difficulties too lol! I will keep you updated!

Recently, i read an article on how to find niche adsense markets. I found it really interesting as it was a different approach from how i usually do. It is not simply based on using a software to find best keywords in regards to google searches or results, it helps you find directly potential subjects for your blog.

The method consists of going on ebay, and looking at hottest products for each category. Once you find something interesting, well searching in the category for a subcategory is the best. Then search particular products which you will be able to talk about in your blog! This is good as you already know what you have to talk about!

After this make a .txt document with the keywords you find. Make a good list. Then use the brainstorm generator trial for the keywords of your list. You will then find those that have a potential.

Using this method i have created two new blogs which i hope will be successful on the long term. One which has the less potential is “Cat food & treats” , which has small searches under google but also very little results, so we will see if it works or not. The second blog is “Necklaces & Pendants” which seems to have a good potential. I cannot expect to have results straight away. I will need to post regularly the first few months, then hope to have some traffic increase in order to be able to make some profit. I will keep you updated about this! Wish me luck!

Everyone would like to know how to make money while blogging. Is it easy? how much can i make? What do i have to do? So many questions … and so many answers! … but no revenues come in! What the hell is happening? Why cant you make money?

Well i think there is no perfect solution on how to make money while blogging. I mean it is not only using pre-made google adsense blogs, doing seo, finding good keywords or even writting interesting posts! It is also about being there at the right moment with the right idea so that people will come and read your blog! Think about all the factors that need to be taken into consideration? Readers from the US will surely read your blog either at lunch if they have time or in the evening, so maybe posting in the evening in order to be in the latest blog post of websites such as digg.com is a good idea ? well probably, but it wont be enough! Being successful is an accumulation of bright ideas and techniques that allow your blog to become successful!

In order to help you with creating your blog, i thought i would show you a link where they talk about top bloggers and how they earn money: How Top Bloggers Earn Money.
It is really interesting to see how some stupid ideas such as the cat picture “I can has cheezburger?” can allow you to become successful! Blogs such as boingboing.net, shows that being creative and writing about your passion can also be a key element to success. You can also note from the link i gave you that most of the bloggers did not expect to earn money from their blog at first, which shows that they were either doing their blog for personal reasons, such as passion for a topic, or simply writing for fun! For me the solution, if there is one, is to write a blog on what interests you but where you feel there might be a potential. If you are totaly into what you are writing then people will come! A must is sense of humor which is much appreciated! I really hope all of this information will help you having new ideas for blogs! Good luck!

We are now in July, it is time for an update of my monthly google adsense earnings. My total earnings for the month of June are $58.16, which is a 17% decrease compared to my May earnings! I am satisfied with the earnings even though they have been decreasing as i have not been posting during this period. The total visitors has also decreased this month.
My blog which is the most profitable is as usual The Color Contacts, which earned me $54.09 this month which is less than the $65 of May. The Color Contacts has still been successful this month but is not developing so much due to a lack of time to update it.
My second blog, My Color Contacts, on the same topic as The Color Contacts has a total earning of $1.18 which is very low.

My third blog, Dollar James, is stable and my profit has slowly increased. My earning for Dollar James in June are $2.80 .
All in all, i am satisfied by my earnings especially as i have not been posting at all. Next month will be bad as i have still not posted anything, well i have but only a couple of days ago. My leading blog, The Color Contacts has good profit so i intend to increase the number of posts on it in order to make sure that for the month of August profits will start again to increase.

By the way i have received by post mail my first Google Adsense payment of $160 which is a good start

We are now beginning of June, it is time for an update of my monthly google adsense earnings. My total earnings for the month of May are $70.82, which is a 75% increase compared to April! I am really happy with this progress, as my main blog has doubled its earnings. The total visitors has increased by 22% this month.
My blog which is profitable is as usual The Color Contacts, which earned me $65.28 this month which is the double of what i earned in April ($32.79)! The Color Contacts has been really successful this month with an increase in visitors and earnings.
My second blog, My Color Contacts, on the same topic as The Color Contacts is not developing as wanted, but this is surely due to the fact that i do not post regularly enough and especially i did not post suffisiantly at the beginning. My Color Contacts has very few visitors unfortunately and total earning is of $1.91 which is less than in April.

My third blog, this one, Dollar James, is stable and number of visitors has been multiplied by 4. Nevertheless profit has not increased, as my earning for Dollar James in May is $1.84 .
All in all, i am satisfied by the increase in my earnings especially as i have not been posting recently. My leading blog, The Color Contacts is getting close to a $70 earning per month which is very nice in regards to the work i do This month i plan to most more regularly in order to increase even more my earnings, and myabe reach $100 in the month with The Color Contacts!

So here we are beginning of May, its time for to give you an update on my Google Adsense earnings. My total earnings for the month of April are $39.99, which is 3 times more than what i earned in March! I consider this to be a really nice progress! Furthermorethe number of visitors has impressively increased!
So lets go in details with my various blogs and websites that earn me money. My most profitable blog is The Color Contacts which earned me $32.79 which is most of my profit.
My second most successful blog was My Color Contacts which i have just started. The number of pages viewed is small but it still represents an earning of $5.04. I am trying to develop this blog, but am having a few difficulties.
My third blog that earned me money is this website, DollarJames.com which earned me $1.81. This blog is only used for information purpose and to update about what i am doing on the net, and how i am successful in making money, so it is normal that it is not optimized to earn money!
Overall, i am really satisfied with my Google Adsense earnings as they have tripled since March! The Color Contacts is having a great success with more and more visitors. My Color Contacts is progressing rather slowly i hope this blog will develop very soon. Considering i did not post in April on Dollar James, it is normal that earnings are low. I intend to correct this during the month of May.

My objectives are to continue earning as much with The Color Contacts, doubling my revenue from My Color Contacts, and increasing revenue from Dollar James. I will keep you updated end of May!

On the 5th of February i launched two blogs on two supposed “niche” markets. It is now over a month they have launched, and the results are interesting to analyse.

The first blog i launched was The Color Contacts, which was based on the color contacts niche market. I posted on this blog about one post every week or every week and a half (so not a great deal!). My adsense revenue was rather disapointing in February, as i had a small amount of visitors and a $2.18 revenue for 25 days. Pretty bad no? Well yes and no, i did not promotion for it, and its the first month so at the end of the month i decided to continue with it by posting new info on it. I was rather supprised that in March my adsense revenue started increasing especially that i was posting less frequently! For the moment in March (18 days), i have nearly doubled my visitors and my adsense revenue is of $5.52 in 18 days. Basically i have already more than doubled my February revenue in even less days! Considering the color contacts has only be launched just over a month and a half ago, i think this is rather impressive vue the time i am spending on it! I intend to continue with it, and hope revenue will continue improving as my ranking in search engines and blog search engines.

My conclusion about the color contacts “niche” is that it definitely has a potential and i can expect to earn $73.6 a month in June if it continues doubling every month as it is now! Consdering all of this, i have decided to launch a second blog on the color contacts “niche” market in order to increase my earnings. The second blog i had launched on a “niche” market, but which i thought would be less successful was The Glowsticks. I chose this niche as clicks were paid relatively high. Nevertheless i have been disapointed by this niche market, as i have had poor results in Frebruary and in March. This is probably because people do not visit blogs for glowsticks maybe lol? Therefore i am kind of leaving this blog asside as i think it has a poor potential or if it has it is more difficult to reach. Statistics are awful, hardly any visitors in February and a revenue of $0.19! March is even worse, but this is because i am no longer updating it!

Overall, i am confident for the color contacts niche market, and hope to have several successful blogs that will allow me to earn a small monthly income between $100 and $200 a month in a couple of months! I will keep you updated of my future revenues regarding these blogs!

Google is experimenting and testing a new ad format with their adsense system. The size of the banner is 728×90 and it has pictures inset into the ad next to the text of the ad. The ad also has small titled headings (tabs) along the top which represents categories of link. User will be able to choose what ad he wants to see. Basically they are trying to create a more client customized ad. Here is a view of how it is:

Not only has Google been testing new ad formats, they have also be testing ads with Italicized writing. I have recently seen websites with Google ads having heading in italics. Personally i find this useless as ads do no longer fit within your site font writing style and it therefore gives a cheap aspect to your website.

Overall it seems Google are testing many new things recently. I have also heard that they might be updating their algorithm! Information to check!
